NZ National Party a NO GO
Sanctions for those without work have no moral justification and must now be reined in. Families must not be punished for the failures of the bankers and politicians who have left our economy in turmoil. A rescue package for poor families is now no less urgent and no less affordable than the billions spent bailing out the banks. The economic case for both is clear, but the moral case for keeping families afloat is far greater than for bankers who have been the architects of their own misfortune. Many older Nzers are praying we do not see a repeat of the 1990s National government “Mother Of All Budgets” where beneficiaries were the main target, The violence we are seeing today is a direct result of the children of the 1990s growing up in severe poverty (remember the food banks of the 1990s), there is simply no need for this type of politics in New Zealand.

The 1990s National Govt caused mayhem with their drastic cutbacks in the health sector and this should not be forgotten: Leading Auckland Healthcare Specialist unhappy with 1990s National Govt Policies Are we in for more of this with a Key Government ? Dr Glennie has worked in Auckland as an ear, nose and throat surgeon for many years, at Middlemore Hospital and in private practice in Remuera Road. He was the founder of the first private accident and emergency clinics in New Zealand, the Auckland and North Shore Accident and Emergency Clinics.
He was the owner of several general practice centres in Auckland in the 1990s; the Henry Glennie Medical Centres. They offered high quality medical care in many areas of Auckland. The consultation fees were considerably less than those existing at the time and were a forerunner of the present attempt by Government to make access to general practitioners more affordable. They were years before their time and unfortunately did not survive the reforms of the National Government of the day. The focus at that time was a business model of medical care and the policies of the previous Labour Government were withdrawn.
Many health experts say that if those policies been allowed to continue the delivery of health care in New Zealand would be far more effective than it is today; a country without people waiting long periods for surgery and the sick able to visit general practitioners with only a nominal consultation fee.
He is the author of numerous articles on the delivery of health care and is in considerable demand as a speaker on health issues. As a guest speaker at many national health conferences he is well known in health circles as innovative, compassionate and very knowledgeableA Stark Warning to The Key National Government
