Hon Phil Goff is a seasoned politician and has a genuine caring nature about him, he is also a staunch family man. The Labour Party made the right choice nominating him as leader.
Mr Goff is in touch with the working class as he worked seasonally as a freezing worker 1968 - 1974, he was also a lecturer in political studies at University of Auckland. He was MP for Mt Roskill 1981 - 1990, also Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Minister of Justice and a Front Bench Member. And has been a Member of the Labour Party since 1969. Mr Goff with his long political career would have more chance of pulling NZ out of this recession relatively unscathed than any politician in the current National Government lineup.
Phil Goffs opinion on Mr Keys Tax cuts are correct, and the public of NZ will see massive cutbacks in social services and health services if these proposed tax cuts proceed. My Family and I are hoping Mr Goff will continue as leader of the Labour party, he will definitely get our vote.
