We in the west live in a democracy,and yet bureaucrats have different and harsher policies for lower paid workers, NZ was built on hard menial work only to be taken over by the so called "knowledge generation" of university educated soft hands--where has this got us?--- it has got us no-where!,

We have lost almost all of our production bases,we are now a service economy, having a real job from school to retirement no longer exists (unless you work in a govt department with a university degree), there was a time back in the mid 1960s workers eg fitters turners- mechanics-cleaners-factory process workers etc, wages were higher or at least on par with the now overpaid, bonus snatching public servants.

 Why is our economy in a mess?, since the 1960s there has been an increase of over 800% of practicing lawyers, accountants, advisors, bankers and other equally non productive university educated profiteers, the outcome being a complete crash of the western financial system. It is doubtful if this crash is reversible, it can be restored to some degree by completely dumping these educated profiteers investor mentality and getting back to grass roots production based economy, this would have a two fold benefit, crime would almost stop, and all youth would have meaningful work.
